When Milton and Esther Fried first came to Las Vegas in 1959, Vegas was a waterhole with a population of 17,000 that transformed every Friday afternoon to a town of 35,000. Theysaw a need for great desserts in Las Vegas and in 1959 he and his wife Esther became managers of an eleven-seat snack bar in a thriving upscale super market, Panorama Market. As bakers came to Milt looking for work, he would ask them to "make me your favorite thing." Bakers came from all over each bringing their own touch and a favorite recipe.
50 years later, Milton Frieds daughter Joni can be caught greeting customers and chatting with longtime friends as she keeps Freeds Bakery running better than ever. Max Fried, a grandson of Milton and Esther, is also behind the scenes as he works to maintain the same level of service and quality baked goods Freeds Bakery has been providing Las Vegas for 50 years. We invite you to visit us at our Tropicana and Eastern or our Richmar and Eastern locations, or on the web at www.freedsbakery.com.
